New California Egg Farm Investigation

October 14, 2008

One consequence of video technology innovations is that the images taken inside factory farms have been steadily improving in recent years. An egg farm investigation carried out by Mercy For Animals, released today, offers the highest quality battery cage footage I’ve ever seen.

The timing couldn’t be better. These images come from a Southern California egg farm, and were taken as recently as September. This video documents exactly the conditions that California’s Proposition 2 seeks to ban.

I consider the undercover investigators who capture these sorts of images to be some of the movement’s greatest heroes. For the sake of exposing cruelty, these investigators will do things that would drive most compassionate people to the psych ward. Make sure their efforts don’t go to waste. Get your egg-eating friends to see this video, and if you’ve got it to spare, throw some cash towards Mercy For Animals. Link.
