NBC Nightly News ran a nice two minute segment on the history of pardoning turkeys, with footage featuring the good, the bad, and the ugly. The good contained our friend Paul Shapiro making a comment about animal cruelty in the industry, the bad was Sarah Palin giving her little chat with a turkey being slaughtered right behind her, and the ugly was people bowling with frozen turkeys at an ice rink. As Hunter S. Thompson once said, when the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
