Saturday’s New York Times has a superb article about the efforts of two undercover agents to penetrate a Texas dogfighting ring. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a newspaper article provide so much detail about this subculture.
You would think that after Michael Vick’s incarceration, dogfighting would be in steep decline. But this article makes clear that, despite great progress made by law enforcement, there’s little reason for short-term optimism. The scum bags who fight dogs are more numerous and better organized than any reasonable person would imagine. Link.
