First Avian Flu Death in Almost a Year

China hasn’t had a human death associated with bird flu for almost a year, but that streak came to an end this week. The victim was a 19-year-old woman.

This is a big deal, since every time a person falls ill with bird flu, there’s a chance the virus will mutate and become as contagious as typical flu bug. Link.
