Fur Wearing, Veal Eating, Pope Benedict

May 9, 2010

When Cardinal Ratzinger was elevated to the papacy, some advocates were hopeful that he’d usher progressive views about animal protection into the vatican. He had, after all, called animal protection a “very serious” issue back in 2002.

Turns out he’s been a gigantic, almost unimaginable disappointment. Not only has taken to wearing fur garments, but on an airplane flight this past week he dined on veal.
