Wendy’s is looking for a buyer for its Arby’s subsidiary. Given how Arby’s sales are in a nosedive, I can’t imagine who would be stupid enough to buy it.
Sales at Arby’s North American restaurants open at least 15 months fell 5.9% during the third fiscal quarter, following a 7.4% drop in the second quarter and an 11.5% decline in the first quarter.
Consumer tastes are changing. While McDonald’s has pivoted towards coffee, salads, and even apples, a restaurant concept like Arby’s has far less room to be easily rejiggered. They’re screwed, which is nice. (Thanks, Justin.) Link.
