California Shark Fin Bill Passes Assembly

California just moved a big step closer to banning the sale of shark fins, with the Assembly voting 62 in favor and 8 assholes opposed.

Assemblyman Mike Eng opposed the bill:

If sharks are an endangered species, and are being imported illegally from abroad, why not start in California and ban the taking of sharks in California? This unfairly targets one community, a community I represent. … and that brings into question the issue of fairness.

Eng makes a valid point, so he should either start working to ban the killing of sharks in California or he should shut his pie hole. (Thanks, Carrie.) Link.
