Caveat Emptor for Culinary Students

Since some of my readers are no doubt contemplating careers in the culinary arts, it’s worth knowing that—just like colleges in general—there is scamming and deception everywhere you look. This San Francisco Chronicle piece tackles the California Culinary Academy, which was claiming a 98 percent job placement rate—and charging its students $46,000 for its 12-month program.
