I’m convinced the animal advocacy movement would grow by leaps and bounds if more of us put Sasha Dichter’s Generosity Day concept into practice. I’m constantly amazed by how generous the animal advocacy movement’s top people are with their time. Cultivating the quality of generosity towards other people in the movement might be the single best springboard to becoming a more effective advocate. I’d estimate that I put at least an hour a day towards helping other activists, without having any expectation of receiving some sort of payback. This might be the most important hour I spend each day.
My second greatest delight involves helping other activists who I perceive are generous with their time. And my first greatest delight is ignoring activists who communicate with me as if I’m a tool for giving them what they want. Link.
