Meat May have Forced Longer Human Lifespans

Some interesting new research suggests that the human lifespan has been extended as a result of our distant ancestors eating meat.

Interestingly, this isn’t because of meat being healthful, quite the opposite. The coping mechanisms that have evolved to deal with chronic inflammation and other meat-related hazards may have given us a lifespan a few decades longer than it would be today had our ancestors eaten an exclusively vegan diet.
