Here’s an annoying industry-slanted article in the Grand Rapids Press about Michigan’s efforts to thwart Prop 2 style campaigns from happening in the state:
[One dairy and poultry farmer says] he would rather have a group of people who know about farming set the standards than a group from the Humane Society of the United States.
So, you’ve got to commercially raise animals to be able to assess which farming practices are cruel? That argument didn’t fly with California voters, and it’s unlikely to be accepted in Michigan either. (Via Shapiro.) Link.
