A nice feature about one of my favorite vegan restaurants, Oakland’s Souley Vegan. The amazing thing about soul food is that, while there are traditionally animal products everywhere you look, the cuisine is perfectly suited to being adapted into supremely delicious vegan meals. It bums me out that Bryant Terry’s excellent Vegan Soul Kitchen wasn’t a greater commercial success—I would love to see this style of cooking catch on within the vegan community.
