Washington Post: Future Generations Will Condemn Us for Tolerating Factory Farming

Important piece in the Washington Post by Kwame Anthony Appiah, titled “What will future generations condemn us for?”

Appiah introduces a three-point system for distinguishing which of society’s practices will ultimately be outlawed, and based on this criteria he identifies four things for which we will be condemned by future Americans:

  1. the American prison system
  2. factory farming
  3. the warehousing of the elderly
  4. irresponsible environmental practices

I expect that this article will start a number of omnivores down the road to rethinking their food choices. (Via Shapiro.) Link.
