Half of Fish Now Farmed
Researchers say that farmed fish now accounts for fully half the world’s seafood consumption. So, not only is the overwhelming majority of meat and poultry produced at factory farms, at least half the fish we eat are subjected to factory farm style conditions as well.
Most of this problem could be solved by education. The veggie movement has done a poor job of educating the public that walnuts and algae-based DHA capsules are a cleaner and environmentally superior alternative to fish oils. Until this is widely understood, our oceans will be under mounting pressure. Link.
