Initial Victory for Chick-Fil-A Over “Eat More Kale”

A big setback for the “Eat More Kale” people in their battle against Chick-Fil-A:

BAD NEWS: long story short…the reviewing lawyer at the Fed. Trade Mark office has said, in a preliminary ruling, that my EAT MORE KALE design IS likely to cause confusion with Chick-Fil-A’s Eat Mor Chikin. If the ruling holds, i’ll not be able to trademark/ protect my ORIGINAL DESIGN or have my website, sell, print or give away Eat More Kale shirts and stickers. Just got the news tonight.

This story will either get so big that Chick-Fil-A backs down out of embarrassment, or it’ll slip through the cracks and become yet another disgusting injustice that an informed society would never permit.

On the plus side, the Eat More Kale guys raised almost $90,000 this month in a Kickstarter campaign to produce a documentary that will publicize this story. (Thanks, Carrie.) Link.
