One Third of Americans Regularly Avoid Meat
A new Vegetarian Resource Group poll, published yesterday, indicates that about a third of Americans are regularly eating meatless meals. The road to a vegan world is through flexitarianism, and this is a clear sign that prominent part-time vegetarians like Bittman and Pollan are winning over the masses—and that campaigns like Meatless Mondays are paying off.
The poll also found that about 5% of Americans are vegetarian, and 2.5 percent vegan or nearly so. (Thanks, Paul.) Link.
