Rebranding Swine Flu
Wal-mart says their pork sales are down nearly 10 percent, while nations around the world are refusing to import US and Mexican pork. Meanwhile, the pork industry is doing everything it can to re-brand swine flu as something that has nothing to do with pigs.
C. Larry Pope, who runs pork giant Smithfield Foods, says, “Swine flu is a misnomer.”
And Iowa Senator Tom Harkin calls what’s going around, “the so-called swine flu.”
