Ship Sinking Claims Bulk of Crew and 28,000 Sheep and Cattle
There’s been a tragedy off the coast of Lebanon involving a livestock transport ship that went down during a storm. 52 people are currently missing. The ship was carrying a simply staggering number of animals, all of whom have drowned.
There were 10,224 sheep and 17,932 cattle on board. The ship had been at sea for 25 days when it sank. I can’t even begin to imagine what the conditions must have been like for so many animals on a single ship for so long, and then for them to die this way along with most of the crew. Horrifying.
