The New York Times won two Pulitzers today, neither of which went to its talentless wellness reporter Tara Parker-Pope—who was for some reason allowed to publish a turd of an article on the supposed difficulty of becoming vegan.
Substitutes like almond milk and rice milk can shock the taste buds, and vegan specialty and convenience foods can cost two to three times what their meat and dairy equivalents do.
This is a hack reporting job from start to finish. There’s absolutely no attempt to convey any sort of useful information about becoming vegan. It’s been years since I’ve seen anyone at the Times cover veganism so amateurishly, and with such an obvious intent to discourage readers from going down the vegan path. Link.
