Final Holiday Gift Roundup for 2009

Some final gift thoughts, since we’ve got only a few days left before Amazon’s free shipping deal won’t get your gifts to you in time for the holidays.

My top four book recommendations for this holiday season are Jonathan Safran Foer’s Eating Animals, Tal Ronnen’s The Conscious Cook, Alicia Silverstone’s The Kind Diet, and Robin Robertson’s 1,000 Vegan Recipes. All of these books have come out in just the past few months.

Also, for fans of this blog, my book Meat Market will go out of print after the holidays, but you can pick up copies now for barely $10 each. And for newbie and aspiring vegans, my Ultimate Vegan Guide remains a terrific choice.

Moving on to the kitchen, it’s hard to imagine a quality set of chef’s knives wouldn’t be appreciated for years to come. Food processors are another wonderful kitchen gift, and Amazon currently has this high-end KitchenAid Food Processor available at more than $100 below list price, in a choice of five colors. And finally, it’s a simple matter to modify bread maker recipes to turn out wonderfully when prepared vegan, and this Panasonic model has received rave reviews.
