Important piece in the Washington Post by Kwame Anthony Appiah, titled “What will future generations condemn us for?”
Appiah introduces a three-point system for distinguishing which of society’s practices will ultimately be outlawed, and based on this criteria he identifies four things for which we will be condemned by future Americans:
- the American prison system
- factory farming
- the warehousing of the elderly
- irresponsible environmental practices
I expect that this article will start a number of omnivores down the road to rethinking their food choices. (Via Shapiro.) Link.
